Have you changed your name?

Have you changed your name since you completed your studies at CQUniversity? If so, please follow the Change of Name process and wait until this has been completed before ordering your awards documentation. This will ensure that your awards documents are issued in the correct name.

Change of Name process

  1. Ensure your Unique Student Identifier (USI) is updated to reflect your current name. You can update your details on the Update your details - Australian Government Unique Student Identifier website. If you do not have a USI, you will be required to create one on the Get your USI - Australian Government Unique Student Identifier website.

    It is important that the above step is completed prior to the following steps.
     
  2. Login into MyCQU using your student account.
  3. Click on your initials in the top-right hand corner.
  4. Click on ‘Summary and ID’ and then to the right of your name, click ‘Manage’.
  5. Fill out the ‘New Details’ section with your new information.
  6. Upload your supporting documentation.
  7. Click the blue ‘Submit Form’ button at the top right of the page. This will log a request with the Student Data Compliance Team, and you will be advised once the changes have been made.

Testamurs

A testamur is a certificate issued by the authority of the University Council and bearing the seal of CQUniversity and is presented to a graduate when an award is conferred. All CQU students and graduates (including TAFE) receive a testamur.

Digital and hard copy testamurs can be ordered online via the links below. Hard copy testamurs incur a fee.

Students can only receive one original hard copy of their Testamur. If an original hard copy has been received in the past, a Replacement Testamur must be ordered using the Order a Replacement Testamur tab below.

My eQuals

My eQuals is the official platform of Australian and New Zealand Tertiary Education Providers, enabling students and graduates to access digital versions of transcripts and testamurs and share them with employers, education providers or other parties.

The My eQuals platform provides CQU students and graduates with authentic, tamper-evident and legally valid digital academic transcripts and testamurs.

All CQU students and graduates (including TAFE) can access certified transcripts and testamurs through My eQuals. These digital documents can be shared with anyone, including employers, universities and other parties, enabling them to view these online.

Accessing qualifications conferred after 1 January 2017

Digital records of testamurs conferred after 1 January 2017 are automatically loaded into the My eQuals platform.

When your course is conferred, you will receive an email to your CQU student email address inviting you to join the platform and access your documents. Please allow 3 – 5 business days from Conferral to receive this invitation.

You can log in to My eQuals using the Education Provider option. Provided, your documents have been uploaded, you will be able to view and share them. If there are no documents available, and you graduated after 1 January 2017, please contact coursemanagement@cqu.edu.au and we will upload your documents.

If you already have a My eQuals account set up, you should add your CQUni student email as a secondary email so you can view your CQUniversity documents, or you can add CQUniversity as your provider.

Accessing qualifications conferred before 1 January 2017

Digital copies of testamurs conferred before 1 January 2017 need to be manually requested. You can make a request to access your pre-2017 documents from My eQuals using the links below:

  1. Request a digital testamur online.
    OR
  2. Request a digital transcript AND testamur.

A My eQuals invitation email will be sent to your CQU Student Email account within 5 working days. Please note that processing in peak periods may take longer.

Once you receive the My eQuals invitation, follow the steps in the email to sign in and access your digital documents.

If you have received a digital or hard copy testamur and then changed your name with CQU, you may wish to order an updated digital or hard copy testamur. These can be ordered online via the links below. Hard copy testamurs incur a fee.

Academic Transcripts

An academic transcript is another name for an academic record. All CQUniversity students and graduates (including TAFE) can access official digital and hard copy academic transcripts.

These can be ordered online via the links below. Hard copy transcripts incur a fee.

Accessing your academic transcript

Digital records of transcripts for courses conferred after 1 January 2017 are automatically loaded into the My eQuals platform. When your course is conferred, you will receive an email to your CQU student email account inviting you to join the platform and access your documents. Please allow 3 - 5 business days from conferral to receive this invitation.

If you were conferred prior to 1 January 2017, or if you have withdrawn from your course or require an interim transcript, your free digital transcript will need to be manually requested through one of the below links:

  2. request a digital transcript and testamur.

How to Order

An unofficial transcript is an unofficial record of all courses and units studied. This cannot be used for education verification purposes. 

To access an unofficial transcript and find out about grades and the process of awarding results, please visit the MyCQU Student Portal (login required) or visit Policy and search for ‘Grades’.

Statement of Attainment

A Statement of Attainment is issued to all students who complete a short course at CQU. These are sent to the mailing address listed in your MyCQU within 30 days of completing your short course. A digital Statement of Attainment is not currently available.

Digital Badge

If you have successfully completed a micro-credential on our Be Different learning platform, you will receive a digital badge as recognition of your learning achievement. All digital badges and certificates of completion are issued through credly.com.

At CQUniversity micro-credentials have been defined as "a certification of assessed learning that is additional, alternative, complementary to or a component part of a formal qualification" (Oliver 2019, p. 19). Micro-credentials may be credit-bearing or non credit-bearing. They are a fast and convenient way to assist individuals learn new skills and engage in continuing professional development. They are non-award and industry relevant.  All micro-credentials at CQUniversity are aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Goals.

A digital badge is a visual recognition of your learning achievement.

On successful completion of your micro-credential, you will be invited to accept your digital badge and download your certificate of completion. You will receive instructions on how to do this via email.

A digital document viewed online via the My eQuals platform is the original document issued by the University and can be used for education verification purposes. A PDF or printed copy of this document – even if saved from the platform – is not original and cannot be used for verification.

Yes, all digital documents that you receive in My eQuals are issued by CQUniversity and are authentic certified copies.

Security experts have independently tested the systems, and documents contain digital signatures that meet the legal standards set by the European Union for authentic electronic documents. This standard exceeds requirements in Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S.

Yes. The My eQuals platform uses cryptographic validity to ensure the security of digital records. Students and third parties cannot upload or alter documents.

Most Australian and international organisations accept certified digital transcripts and testamurs through My eQuals in place of hard copy documents. We advise you to check with the organisation you are sharing the documents with, to ensure they accept My eQuals in place of hard copy certified documents.

Yes. However, if you graduated from a course prior to 1 January 2017, you need to request these documents be uploaded manually. Please refer to the How Do I Access My Digital Academic Transcript or Testamur information above.

Please note that My eQuals documents are static documents, meaning they do not update after being issued. If you undertake future study, you will need to request a new transcript after successful completion of each course.

When you register for graduation, the cost of your one hard copy testamur is included in the registration fee, and you will receive your hard copy testamur at your graduation ceremony.

In this case, you do not need to place an order for a hard copy testamur.

If your registered ceremony is months in the future and you would like a hard copy of your testamur now, you can place an order using the Hard Copy Testamur order link above in the Testamurs section and pay for it to be posted to you.

Please note, if you choose to order your testamur in advance, you will not receive any amount refunded from your graduation registration fee, nor will you receive another testamur at graduation. You will also be required to bring your hard copy testamur with you to your ceremony so that it can be presented to you when you cross the stage.

You will not receive a hard copy of your Academic Transcript at your graduation ceremony. A digital copy will be uploaded to My eQuals for free, however, if you would like to order a Hard Copy Official Transcript, please refer to the Academic Transcripts section above. 

If you have ever received a hard copy of your testamur in the past, if you require a new hard copy due to your original being damaged or lost, you will need to place an order using the Order a Replacement Testamur webform.

You cannot order a new Testamur using the Hard Copy Testamurs online form.

When ordering a Replacement Testamur, certain documentation is required.

Original copy is damaged

If you are placing an order because your original copy is damaged, you will need to post your original Testamur back prior to us processing your order for a replacement. Your original (damaged) Testamur will be destroyed at this time as only one can be in existence. Please email coursemanagement@cqu.edu.au or contact 13 27 86 for the postal address.

Original copy is lost

If you are placing an order because your original copy is lost, you will need to email coursemanagement@cqu.edu.au with a completed Statutory Declaration stating that you have lost this document. Please visit the Statutory Declarations Attorney General’s Department website to access the form and find information on who is an approved witness.

Please ensure you are submitting the completed statutory declaration form via email or advising course management of your intent to post your damaged Testamur back at the same time as submitting your Replacement Testamur order.

If you have registered for graduation but did not attend, and you would like a hard copy testamur, you will need to submit an order for this. Please refer to the Hard Copy Testamurs section above.
